Catholic Group Issues Hard-Hitting Statement: 'Why We Must Oppose the Homosexual Agenda for the Military'

HANOVER, Penn., Feb. 17 /ImpactWire/ -- Reacting to the current push to force the U.S. military to accept open homosexuals in the Armed Forces, the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) published a well-documented study today, providing hard-hitting reasons to reject the proposal.

The group's statement is titled "To Keep Our Honor Clean: Why We Must Oppose the Homosexual Agenda for the Military." The full document is available online here.

News Conference: Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, and leaders of several major organizations will participate in a Thursday press conference to announce their support for the 1993 law regarding homosexuals in the military. The news conference will be held at the Marriott Wardman- Park Hotel (room 8216) in Washington, D.C. at 2:00 PM.

The current administration hopes to overthrow the current law that excludes homosexuals from the military. "This move cannot be considered in a vacuum," reads the TFP statement. "To understand fully its significance, it must be seen in light of a decades-old homosexual movement that strives to uproot the very foundations of our morality."

"That is one of the many reasons why our military must be defended from ideologues who would sacrifice its effectiveness and honor on the altar of unrestrained license, even at a time when national and global security rests on its successful campaign against terrorism," continues the document.

Presenting solid facts, the statement demonstrates how the introduction of open homosexuals in the military would undermine unit cohesion, morale, discipline and honor of our military. For that reason, over 1,100 retired flag and general officers recently urged Congress and President Obama to uphold the ban on homosexuals in the military. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars support the current ban as well.

"To Keep Our Honor Clear" also quotes from a testimony in support of the ban by the late war hero Col. John W. Ripley (USMC) before the House Armed Services Committee, recently highlighted in Norman Fulkerson's book, An American Knight: The Life of Col. John W. Ripley.
