“I am very impressed with the work the NGLCC and its sister chamber here in Argentina carry out to promote business among companies of both countries. Both chambers play a vital role tying the LGBT community to the world of commerce, opening the door to a mutually beneficial exchange for all, while celebrating diversity values that draw all people together,” said Chargé d´Affaires Jefferson Brown, serving at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires.

U.S. Embassy Chargé d´Affaires Jefferson Brown welcomed a U.S. NGLCC delegation and praised their efforts to promote business and cultural exchange with Argentina.

The NGLCC delegation, including 13 members that represent 9 U.S. companies, ivisited Argentina from July 21 through July 27. The delegation participated in the 3rd International Conference on LGBT Tourism organized by GNetwork 360 held July 21-23 in Buenos Aires. The delegation also met its local counterpart, the Argentine Gay/Lesbian Chamber of Commerce - which was established in the South American country in 2009 with the support of the NGLCC from which they got inspiration.

NGLCC co-founder Justin Nelson said that the Washington D.C.-based chamber created in 2002 is comprised of 29,000 companies with 47 headquarters in the United States. The NGLCC totals 67 chambers in other countries like Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and Argentina. Member companies include founding partner IBM and 120 Fortune 500 businesses lsuch as Intel and Motorola, among others. NGLCC members employ 250,000 people, and it is estimated that there are 1.4 million LGBT owned businesses in the U.S.

During a reception hosted in honor of the delegation, Chargé d´Affaires Jefferson Brown congratulated the NGLCC for the support they provide to its sister chamber here and for promoting business with Argentina – a growing market with great business opportunities and partnerships for companies of both countries. “Exchanges such as this one both show the way to would-be exporters and importers as well as plant the seeds for future prosperous commercial and cultural relations,” highlighted the Chargé.

At the end of the reception, the NGLCC presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Argentine Minister of Tourism Enrique Meyer and thanked him for his permanent support to the promotion of tourism activities by the chamber in Argentina.
